These days, it's hard to keep up with which artists are releasing
music on which labels, and which labels are being swallowed up by
which other labels, and which labels even still exist. Times are a
changin' and Thursday started off with another bang for all of
us trying to keep up with the ever-crashing (uh-um) changing
industry. Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus announced
during a press conference Thursday morning in downtown Nashville,
that the ink was officially dry and the band was now calling Taylor
Swift's label, Big Machine Records, home.
CEO, Scott Borchetta,
stated "It's a new beginning and a new partnership." Borchetta
founded Big Machine as an independent label in 2005 and has found
nothing but success since. While fans were mostly unaware, Flatts have been floating around label-less for nearly three months,
since the folding of yet another major label, the Disney owned Lyric
Street Records, whom we at New Country Star had worked
closely with for several years. Considering the fact the
Rascal Flatts have sold over 20 million albums and had somewhere
around 25 million digital downloads over the past ten years,
combined with the unbelievable success of Taylor Swift who has a
brand new album set to drop on October 25th, Scott Borchetta and his
Big Machine, may just be one of the biggest machines operating in
major or indie record label history!
"Love Left to Lose" is the first single from the band's debut
album Revelation, available now in stores and
oniTunes.
Sons of Sylvia will resume their spot on

country music's
version of Queen!

Hang Out with Sara Jo and...
Pop Rock Sensation, Ashlyne
Huff
Her Father Played for Michael Jackson,
Celine Dion, Michael Bolton and More!
You might say music is
in her blood. Ashlyne is the daughter
of Nashville producer
and session guitarist, Dann Huff
who along with his
brother, David, founded the 1980s
glam-metal band, Giant.
Ashlyne has toured with Disney artists;
Honor Society, Emily
Osment, and we caught up with her
Ashlyne Huff is just 24
years old, but as far as honing her talent, she's already there. I
really believe that. I've met and interviewed so many artists
at various points in their music careers... some on their way, some
who were at the peak of stardom, and a few who once were.
Ashlyne Huff, definitely has the goods if she decides to stick with
it.
I caught up with Ashlyne at the end of her three week U.S. tour
courtesy of Walmart and Kotex.

Brady Seals
is a successful country music artist who has been in the business
for over 20 years. He sat down with "The
Balancing Act" host Kristy Villa
to promote his album, Play Time, in stores now. Tune in
to the show on July 6th
at 7:00 am (ET/PT) on Lifetime Television
to hear Seals talk about his new album, his national tour, and
what it’s like to be a dad. Check your local listings or visit
Brady's
website for
a special day-of show viewing.
Seals began his career as a touring musician
at the tender age of 16, eventually racking up scores of hit songs
as well as three #1's with country group Little Texas – all of
which he co-wrote, earning him the ASCAP Triple Play award. He
then went on to make three solo albums, form the band Hot Apple
Pie, and recently father his first son, Evan, now 18 months old,
with his wife, Lisa. His new album Play Time is a unique
blend of country and rock with fast-paced vocals, country-style
rap, and guest performances by members of Tom Petty & the
Heartbreakers and Hot Apple Pie.
“My new single is called ‘Been There, Drunk
That’,” Seals says. “It may sound like it’s about getting drunk,
but really it’s more about putting away the past and not doing
that anymore. The Balancing Act is a great opportunity to not
only promote my new album, but also to encourage viewers to ‘Rock
Responsibly.’”
“Having Brady Seals on ‘The Balancing Act’
has brought yet another great recording artist to women viewers,
one who will have a real impact, and help them balance their
lives. We are proud that we could bring this deeply influential
and entertaining guest to our viewers” says Doug Campbell, Founder
and Executive VP of Programming for The Balancing Act.
Seal’s album, dubbed “musically freewheeling
and lyrically lascivious” by Country Weekly, is available
now, and The Play Time 2010 Tour is in full swing as well. To

About Brady Seals: Brady
Seals released his fourth solo album, Play
Time,
on August 18. The 11 song collection features 10 songs
written/co-written by this proven hit songwriter. Boutique label
StarCity Recording Company gave Seals complete creative freedom
and the resulting album is an upbeat and fun collection of songs
that Country
Weekly called
“musically freewheeling and lyrically lascivious” - there’s not a
slow song on the album.
Seals has successfully reinvented himself throughout his career,
while always remaining true to his musical roots in rock-tinged
country. At 16, Seals left his home in Ohio as a touring musician,
and by 21 had scored three #1 hits with multi-Platinum selling
country group Little Texas—all of which he’d co-written, earning
him the ASCAP Triple Play award. He went on to release three solo
albums in the late 90’s before forming and fronting the quartet of
player’s players known as Hot Apple Pie, with whom he scored a top
20 hit (“Hillbillies”).
Seals is currently headlining "The Play Time 2010 Tour" in support
of his latest single and video for "Been There, Drunk That"
currently receiving airplay on CMT
Pure, GACtv.com, Yahoo!
and others.
